How important is it for the Body of Christ, the Church be in agreement as one? I am talking the true Body of Christ. If there are so many divisions of the Body of Christ, isn’t that confusion? If there are many different doctrines in the Body that do not agree isn’t thst confusion?
Example, you have one group that teach dispensationalism and a pre tribulation rapture followed by a 7 year tribulation (futurism).
Then another group teaches everything has already been fulfilled (preterism).
Then another says prophecy has been being fulfilled over the years (historism).
Then you have another group teaching we are in the little season of satan that Jesus Christ already returned He reigned on earth already 1,000 years and now Satan is looses to deceive the nations then the Great White Throne Judgement will happen.
This is confusion really, there is only One Truth and God’s Word is Truth and it is of no private interpretation. The Holy Scriptures tell us that the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is One. They did not disagree, Jesus didn’t say, well Father I see it this way so we will just agree to disagree, did He? No, He didn’t they were and are in agreement as One. Jesus prayed for the disciples to be one and then He continues to pray for us who would believe the words of the disciples concerning Jesus.
In the early church there was disputes about what Gentiles should do, should they be circumcised or not? So the disciples came together and James I believe it was said, as for the Gentiles they were to abstain from blood, fornication, meat strangled, and idolatry. And after James stated this they were all in an agreement.
Acts 15:13 And after they had helde their peace, Iames answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken vnto me.
15:14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visite the Gentiles to take out of them a people for his Name.
15:15 And to this agree the words of the Prophets, as it is written,
15:16 After this I will returne, and wil build againe the Tabernacle of Dauid, which is fallen downe: and I will build againe the ruines thereof, and I will set it vp:
15:17 That the residue of men might seeke after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, vpon whom my Name is called, sayth the Lord, who doeth all these things.
15:18 Knowen vnto God are all his workes fro the beginning of the world.
15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
15:20 But that wee write vnto them, that they abstaine from pollutions of Idoles, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
No one said, “well we will just agree to disagree and live peacefully”, did they? No they did not, they got together and hashed things out according to the Word of God, which is Truth and came to agreement. Battling the differences and coming together as one. I know I am guilty of just giving up and being frustrated saying, “believe what you want I don’t care”! That is not the fruit of the Spirit at all, but I have said it, as well as have thought that. But truthfully if two people both desire the Truth, not to be “right” but to know the Truth in the Word of God then just like the Bereans they would listen to one another then search the Holy Scriptures and pray for Truth, wouldn’t they? No arguing, no heated debates, no snide rude comments, no headaches, but a genuinely searching for Truth. And when God opens it up, repent and share it with others admitting you were in error.
I don’t but for me the Truth is the most important thing to me, without it I am deceived and could deceiue others. That is not okay with me. So, that takes me back to, how important do you believe it is that the Body of Christ be One in Truth? In doctrine?
John 17:9 I pray for them, I pray not for the world: but for them which thou hast giuen me, for they are thine.
17:10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.
17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine owne Name, those whom thou hast giuen mee, that they may bee one, as we are.
17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy Name: those that thou gauest me, I haue kept, and none of them is lost, but the sonne of perdition: that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
17:13 And now come I to thee, and these things I speake in the world, that they might haue my ioy fulfilled in themselues.
17:14 I haue giuen them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, euen as I am not of the world.
17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keepe them from the euill.
17:16 They are not of the world, euen as I am not of the world.
17:17 Sanctifie them through thy trueth: thy word is trueth.
17:18 As thou hast sent mee into the world: euen so haue I also sent them into the world.
17:19 And for their sakes I sanctifie my selfe, that they also might be sanctified through the trueth.
17:20 Neither pray I for these alone; but for them also which shall beleeue on me through their word:
17:21 That they all may be one, as thou Father art in mee, and I in thee, that they also may bee one in vs: that the world may beleeue that thou hast sent mee.
17:22 And the glory which thou gauest me, I haue giuen them: that they may be one, euen as we are one:
17:23 I in them, and thou in mee, that they may bee made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loued them, as thou hast loued me.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that beare record in heauen, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.
5:8 And there are three that beare witnesse in earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood, and these three agree in one.
