My Thoughts Today

Thoughts today…the closer you draw to God, He draws closer to you, and when that happens you see how dreadfully awful and horrible sin really is. Also you truly begin to understand and know how Holy, Holy, Holy He is, when that begins to really resonate within a person, you then begin to understand why it is written to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

One main reason is because as long as we have breath in these mortal bodies, there is a possibility we could be deceived if we become over confident thinking we are untouchable or stand sure. Sadly, we can become spiritually prideful and think we are set, forgetting we must be purified, purged, in order to be sanctified.

This is a process that is painful, it is very hard and the flesh wants to give up and give in, but the spirit is at enmity with the flesh, warring against it.

The process in which we are sanctified is called, fiery trials, persecutions, and tribulations. Your own family will turn away from you, you may lose your job, house, and possibly health even. The accuser of the brethren will whispers lies in the ears of others about you, and then in your own ears, tempting you, putting vain imaginations in your mind about others.

Vain imaginations can consist of, but not limited to, playing a thought in your mind of getting revenge, or imagining someone getting what you believe would be their just desserts, or thinkingba person said this or did that when you have no proof just your imagination!

Have you ever said or thought, “if I could get away with it I would do such and such!” Yeah…that’s vain imagination as well. And sadly, many that say that are more concerned about the consequences on earth rather than sinning against God and His coming judgement.

This is why we must be careful for if we think we stand lest we fall.

We must die daily, we must get our flesh under subjection. Our flesh is filled with lusts, wants, appetites. Anything that feels good and puffs up our pride must be put to death, that is why Apostle Paul’s says, he dies daily.

We must also humble ourselves the Holy Scriptures tells us. Submit yourselves unto God, and resist the devil and he shall flee, SUBMIT is the first and foremost thing that MUST take place, submission is humbling yourself.

The closer I draw to the LORD the more I realize I am nothing, can do nothing, and know nothing without Him. If I ever take my eyes off of Him and His Word and begin to think, I did anything…woe is me!! Never forget Nebuchadnezzar…

Just thoughts goingbthrough my mind and heart this Sunday afternoon.
