Stay Away From Those Who Claim Christ But Live Opposite Of His Teachings

My study into these issues with the church in these in times and our own experiences developed today’s devotional ~ God Bless

A Warning 2 Peter 2:18-22For when they speak great swelling [words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, [through much] wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 2 Peter 2:18-22

Great swelling words of emptiness – False teachers deceive the weak with high sounding words that masquerade as scholarship or profound insight or even as direct revelation from God.(who are we told masquerades as an angel of light??)

In reality, they say nothing genuinely scholarly, spiritual, or divine –They allure through lewdness. (sin, lawlessness, compromise of God’s Word)They entice others to their baser level – their flesh.
Seduction of the ears rather than the winsomeness of TRUTH is their ploy.
They offer the people a kind of religion that they can embrace and still hold onto their fleshly desires.(compromise, being like the world, not being peculiar, set apart)

These false teachers even demonstrate with their own lives, they profess Christianity and The Way – However, by their lives, they are half in – half out.
They reject the TRUTH and attempt to seduce others in an attempt to fulfill their self-gratification.(i.e., A Christianity that ends up looking more like the world than the True Church and Way)
The warning from Peter is to turn and flee from such things –
Peter reminds you of the things the Lord Jesus Christ saved you from in this world and warns you NOT to return to them.
Turn and FLEE from such and their false teachings and then PRAY for them and those that are sitting under them to come back to Truth.
