🤍 🕊 Christ or The World ~ ❕ ❕ Both are calling ~
❕ ❕ You can only serve one ❕ ❕
🤍 🕊 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Matthew 6:24
🤍 🕊 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24
🤍 🕊 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62

❕ ❕ Self denial isn’t a popular subject, but Jesus spoke of it as a nonnegotiable characteristic for those who follow Him as Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 we must deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Him.
❕ ❕ Crucifixion is an eye-opening metaphor for discipleship. What does it mean to “take up our cross?”
❕ ❕ Christians are called to die to our self-will and take up our cross by embracing God’s Will and following Jesus NO MATTER THE COST. To deny ourselves means to abandon everything in our agenda that doesn’t align with God’s Will – If we follow Jesus as Lord, it means HE is the Final Authority of EVERY aspect of our life. Our personal preferences, hopes, dreams and plans must defer to God’s Plan. ❕ ❕
🤍 🕊 It is tempting to believe that such a lifestyle my cause unhappiness, but in reality, the opposite is true. The MORE we follow Christ (and not the things of this world or others) the more PEACE and JOY we find in our souls. 🤍 🕊
