Reading the World English Bible out loud has truthfully opened up more to me in these last few days than I had EVER expected. Follow me with this for a minute. I thought Rachel was being idolatrous or even greedy by taking the idol from her father Laban, but let’s read this to understand a bit deeper than at least myself have understood.
Gen 30:27 And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
In the King James Bible, it does not give us a very clear understanding on exactly what Laban was saying. So here it is in the World English Bible.
World English Bible
Gen 30:27 Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that Yahweh has blessed me for your sake.”
Laban was told by divination!!!!

SATAN! THE SERPENT HIMSELF!!!
Satan can only be in one place at one time, his demons, fallen angels are strategically located around, but, Satan will only go where he knows God is working, with who God is working with, and who he is preparing to become the son of perdition!
Key players are who Satan is interested in so to speak, so when we say, “Satan” is attacking me, well not really, we are not that important in the whole scheme of things, his fallen angels, the demons are our troubles, not Satan himself.
Gen 31:19 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.
Rachel stole his idols/images.

Rachel did not just take one of her father’s images she took them all! Was Rachel doing this to protect Jacob? And not out of idolatry? The possibility is very strong that she was.
Jacob’s own uncle became the first person to be an enemy of the Jewish people when you really look at it. Laban held Jacob in bondage for many years working him as a slave, changing his wages on him 10 times!
Now guess who in Laban’s bloodline? BALAAM!!! The prophet that was paid to curse Israel but could only bless them, but taught Balak how to make God Himself curse them!!! He was a seer a prophet for profit so to speak!
But God used this wicked prophet to speak blessings over Israel.
I do believe Rachel took those images in order to remove her father’s gods and protect Jacob.
