Apostasy in Christianity is the rejection of Christianity by someone who formerly was a Christian. The term apostasy comes from the Greek word apostasia (“ἀποστασία”) meaning defection, departure, revolt or rebellion. It has been described as “a willful falling away from, or rebellion against, Christianity.
So many have sold their souls to Satan denying Christ!
Though most have just handed it to Satan on a silver platter.
You do not have to be a celebrity in order to do it nor even rich!
Don’t you see it daily?
Look around at the the backsliders today.
Some are half in Christ half out of Christ which makes them completely sold out to Satan!
You either are completely sold out to Christ or to Satan there is no middle ground!
So those who once knew the LORD and now have become apostates have basically given their souls away not even for a temporary profit!
We focus so much on those in the entertainment industry, and yes they are dangerous.
But what about the one who claimed Christ, walked with Christ, witnessed for Christ and now walks on His Holy Blood as if it was an unholy thing and not even true?
How many are they leading to hell instead of to Christ now?
How many of those that were watching their walk were close to repentance?
But now since that person became an apostate, they turned The Forgiveness and Love of God into a lie in their eyes?
After all, if He was real, then He can’t be all that because so and so quit believing and began to fall in love with a worldly life of pleasure.
Yeah, the every day Joe’s and Susie’s are going to stand before the LORD with so much blood on their hands.
Not only is it better for those who have never known the LORD, than to have known Him then become an apostate but you may have to watch your own family members being thrown into hell because your actions told them God is not worth it!
So regardless if people receive benefits from the deal with Satan or not, their god they now live for, is the same as the abortionist, murderer, child molester, and that my friends is a horrible place for them to be in.
This sin or not, but if you no longer feel remorse or Godly sorrow I would be concerned.
Can you return to the Father after walking away? Yes!!! You can only be born again once, but you can be forgiven many times if your repentance is sincere!
The prodigal son returned to his father’s house, after he came to himself sitting in the pig pen of life! He realized he was in a mess and only had one way out and that was back to the Fathers house! The father never once went searching for his son, but he never he gave up either. Obviously he would glance out looking for him, bevause one day he saw him.
When he looked and saw his son returning afar off he went out to meet him! He was so excited! He made this statement that backsliders need to grasp, “My son that was dead is NOW ALIVE!”
The prodigal never ceased being a son but he was dead to the father but always his son. When you walk away from the Father you are now dead to Him, if you return in humility He accepts your repentance and rejoices giving you the promise of eternal life!!! If you do not return and die a natural death you will remain dead to Him and you will not enter into everlasting life.
So when you sit and ponder about the celebrity that sold their soul and have such influence over so many people, and the backsliding apostate that knew Christ and many watched their walk now do not believe….ask yourself, who is in a worse state at the end of it all?
Regardless they will both go to hell if they do not repent. Search the Word you will find those who have brought shame and reproach on the Name of Jesus and trampled His Holy blood underfoot by their sinful actions will suffer even more.
