You Ready For The Threshing Floor

The Temple of God was built on a Threshing Floor.

Are you aware of what this is a picture of?

What that is a shadow of?

We are the Temple of God on earth now. Not a building but us, these earthen vessels.

Before Christ came, in the Old Testament God would enter in the Temple made for Him. He would sit between the Cherubim on the Mercy Seat in the Temple that was built on the ground that was used to separate the chaff from the wheat.

Do you really understand what it means to go through persecutions and tribulations like Jesus said we would when we walk with Him? Let’s look at what happens on a threshing floor to understand the relation between the temple, the harvest, the separation, the tribulation, and the final product.

Before the threshing floor can take place the first part of the harvest must take place first. The harvest is not a removal of the wheat, it is the first stage only of a process.

What happens on a threshing floor? Yes, the wheat is separated from the chaff, but how?

First there is a harvest, the harvest is brought to the threshing floor where in biblical times even the owner of the harvest would be there overseeing the work done.

(Read Ruth so important to understand this.)

At the time of harvest the wheat and the tares are separated. They look very much alike but those who work in the fields can tell the difference. Not a novice but someone who has dealt with them.

The wheat and the tare have different characteristics at harvest time.

One stands up proudly the other one because of the fruit it bares is humbled over.

One can be eaten and will nurture the body. One will make a person feel drunk then make the person sick in body.

But that is a study you need to do yourself.

Back at the threshing floor the Owner is there, and is hands on. He will keep an eye on His harvest in case thieves come. He will watch the wheat go through a process that is not easy on the wheat.

Some wheat will be damaged by this process, some will be lost, but some will endure.

Before the process of threshing begins, the Owner and the men will celebrate! They will also stay day and night until the job is complete, watching the harvest.

On the floor the workers will bring out a tool called a tribulum. This tool is pretty frightening to look at to say the least. Ox will be used sometimes to use it on the wheat, this tribulum will go over the wheat, underneath the wheat is the earth, then the wheat, then the tribulum. Not only is the tribulum being used, but the wheat is under the foot of the ox as well.

This tool as it goes over the wheat will begin to do the separation of the chaff, which is the useless stuff clinging to the wheat, covering the wheat itself. It breaks it off in a grinding way. Crushing it off if you will, not the wheat itself just the chaff clinging to it.

Chaff and wheat

After that is done, then the workers will grab winnowing forks, this is usually done in morning hours as the wind blows and you can see the chaff blown off by the wind. The wheat is tossed up in the air, over and over till the chaff is removed.

Then the wheat is gathered and put in the barn for the Owner.

But the chaff and the tares are also gathered and thrown into the fire!!

Therefore just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks and those who practice lawlessness. They will throw them into the fiery furnace; in that place will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear! (Matthew 13:40-43)

KJV

MATTHEW 13

40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Malachi, the last prophet, ends his book with the same picture:
“Then you will return and distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.”

“For behold, the day is coming—it will burn like a furnace—when all the proud and every evildoer will become stubble. The day that is coming will set them ablaze”—says Adonai-Tzva’ot—“leaving them neither root nor branch.” (Malachi 3:18-19)

This is how it is written in the Hebrew bible with verses18 & 1 in same chapter.

KJV

Malachi 3:18

18Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Malachi 4:1

The Great Day of the Lord

1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

This is talking about the DAY of the LORD. You read that right? The DAY of the LORD is not seven years, it is a DAY, to be precise it will last One Hour. The hour of temptation is the Wrath of the Lamb and the hour the Antichrist will give the kings rule for one hour as well in order to fight against the LAMB OF GOD!

Another little snippet you need to study out. 🥰

The timing of the use of tribulum in individual lives is for the LORD to decide, and the means of which it must be done!

But it must be done to every grain of wheat. BEFORE THE WHEAT IS GATHERED INTO THE BARN TO SAFTEY.

People have put the “cart before the horse” when it comes to the harvest time. People have been taught that is the pre trib rapture, no it is not. The harvest is not removed until it is thrashed and no chaff remains on it. Only then will it be gathered in the barn.

We are that wheat and our bad habits or fleshly lusts, our worldly desires, that cling to us must be removed on the threshing floor. And in order to do that a tribulum will be used.

Jesus tells Peter this, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.” (Luke 22:31-32)

The threshing floor is a part of the purifying process, the sanctification process.

We are the Temple of God when we are born again, and we are the wheat that must go through the threshing floor process.

  1. The beginning of the harvest process.
  2. Separation of the tares and the wheat. Goats and sheep. Believe it or not God has been separating the true from the false conversions.
  3. Tribulum used in order to remove any worldliness that clings to us. (Could be death of a loved one, sickness, poverty, persecution, wrongful jail sentence.) Whatever the Father will allow will be used in order to remove any form of the world off of us).
  4. The Holy Spirit will blow it away after it is broken off. It may take a while to put that cigarette down that bad habit of watching too much tv whatever it is in our lives that God says is not needed or glorifying to Him will be removed.
  5. Being taken together with the other “wheat” into the barns BEFORE the fires come to burn up the tares and chaff. This includes the past ones that has been stored up in silos.
  6. Once the wheat is safely removed (a way to escape the hour of temptation) then the Wrath of God is poured out not over a period of days or years. (We are not appointed unto wrath,) Jesus already endured that for us. It is done quickly and in succession. (Just as Job did not get a breather inbetween the attacks of Satan, neither will the wicked on that DAY of the LORD.)
Dead in Christ
will be united with those still on earth

Make no mistake regardless if you pass away before the actual time on earth called tribulation, you as an individual will have already gone through your own personal one. Just as Peter did! Peter needed pride taken away, Peter needed to see that his words did not line up with his actions.

You see in one breath he was telling Christ that he would die with Him. The next he was denying even knowing Him! Not once but three times!

Not only that, but Peter drew a sword in the garden and shed blood of another in order to save Christ, but, it was Christ’s blood that had to shed in order to save us!

Peter was passionate to where his flesh would rule him. Though he was angry with a cause he did not handle it the right way. I know I myself am very guilty of this.

That threshing experience Peter had was not an easy one. Jesus prayed for him so his faith would not fail.

We have no idea the kind of torment that Peter went through during those 3 days and 3 night after denying Jesus and seeing Him tortured and murdered yet, not opening His mouth. It had to almost unbearable! If Jesus had not interceded, Peter could have ended up doing what Judas did!

Oh but the hope we read when JESUS SAYS, “Go tell my disciples AND PETER”!

The trials, persecutions, tribulations we will go through will make us cry and ask God, “WHERE ARE YOU?” But do not ever forget He is with us and that Jesus liveth to make intercession for us!

The just remember will live by their faith and we must use our faith in order to increase our faith.

There are many things written within this study. Many things that should persuade you to dig deeper and search them out. But also in this study it shows each of us that when trouble comes our way and it will don’t think it a strange thing but a needful thing.

Believe it or not by this happening is a way you can know that you are a child of God and He is preparing you for the next step with Him.
