God will allow satan to send a messenger to buffet you in order to keep you humble!
Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh that he prayed three times for God to remove.
But God would not, because HIS GRACE WAS SUFFICIENT!
HIS GRACE WAS ENOUGH!
HIS GRACE REMOVED HIS SIN!
BUT IN HIS GRACE HE ALLOWS Satan to remind us of what we were in order to keep us humble!!!
We everyone must overcome that spirit of pride, even Apostle Paul fought with pride!!

2 Corinthians 12
1It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 5Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
The thorn was given in his flesh which was a MESSENGER of satan…what does a messenger do?
A messenger brings a MESSAGE!
It does not say a “spirit of infirmity” which brings sickness, no it says a MESSENGER which brings a message!!!
Apostle Paul’s thorn in the flesh HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SICKNESS, it had something to do with a message…a message that was repeatedly buffeting him, over and over. A message that kept him humble!!! It says unless he would be exalted above measure!
So now let’s read the following verses which will give us the answer on what the messenger was pounding him with.
8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Gods GRACE IS SUFFICIENT for him!!! HIS GRACE! Grace is given to those humbled that cry out to God for mercy to forgive them of their sins!!!
We are saved BY GRACE through FAITH!
Grace is given to the sinner!!! Gods grace was sufficient! Gods grace was given and forgave him, and in order to keep Apostle Paul humbled the messenger that was sent to torment him by Satan, was used by the Father to keep him HUMBLE!!!
He said he would glory in his infirmities which is the weak body in sickness, persecutions, and in distress FOR CHRIST’S SAKE because in his weakness he is made strong in Christ! That was not the reason for the thorn. This glorifying was permitted because that glorifying GLORIFIES GOD!!
The thorn was given Apostle Paul in order to KEEP HIM HUMBLE! It was given him so he would not think of himself more than he should!!! Apostle Paul was given so much through revelations, visions, and even going to paradise and seeing things he could not even describe!! Anyone being used by God in such an amazing capacity would struggle with pride.
So what was this thorn that the messenger of Satan kept buffeting him with???
HIS PAST SIN!! THE HORRIFIC THINGS HE HAD DONE, THE MURDERS HE WAS GUILTY OF, THE PERSECUTION THAT HE INFLICTED ON THE BODY OF CHRIST!!!
Satan wanted to torment him, shame him, remind him of his past so he would be silent and lose confidence of his salvation because of the wickedness he had done.
But God used what Satan meant for evil for good. Those messages that buffeted Apostle Paul, kept him humble and kept him closer to the Cross! Reminding him always his need for the Savior!
How can I be so sure it was about past sin? Thorns represent or is a picture of what sinned did. After Adam and Eve sinned their sin affected the earth and now thorns sprung up. The crown of thorns was a picture of the affect of the sin.
The LORD gave me this revelation 3 days ago. Talk about tears!!! Repentance! Even great joy!!
Why?
Those who know me, I mean really know me, knows that I cry a lot because of my past sins. No, I do not sit around and think about them on purpose.
More times than not it is manifested in my dreams!! Or sometimes people will bring it up and beat me up with it. Reminding me how horrible and full of wickedness was in me. Sometimes someone from that period will pop up on my phone or a photo will appear. Many avenues the messenger of Satan will use.
When those things happen and the sins I had committed and the grace I was given most definitely humbles me.
So many with love and kindness will tell me, you need to forget your past God has forgiven you. Or quit beating yourself up, you are way too hard on yourself. You need to forgive yourself and quit bringing it up.
Kind words spoken yes, but God has let me know they were spoken out of ignorance by well meaning people.
Messenger of Satan buffets me and that thorn in my own flesh reminds me never to let pride pollute me because it leads to destruction. And God resists the proud but He gives GRACE TO THE HUMBLE!
Yes I have been forgiven, and since being forgiven the LORD has healed me from many sicknesses, delivered me from addictions, He has used me in gifts of healings, He has shown me truths I never knew, He has shown me things to come, He has placed a great calling on my life. But as others, I can be prone to pride!!!
And in order to help me live in a humble life, the Father has allowed Satan to send his messenger to remind me of the cesspool of filth the LORD had to pull me out of!
No, I am not comparing myself with Apostle Paul by no means. What am I saying is we all have the same passions and all are prone to begin to think more highly than we should when God uses us.
I never thought this before, andras I said it came to move days ago…in the shower no less!
Yes, Paul had bad eyes and his body was pretty wrecked for beatings and stuff. But the thorn was the sin he was forgiven for, by GRACE through FAITH and the messenger would buffet him with it, but GOD SAYS HE WILL NOT REMOVE IT BUT HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!!
