Would you counterfeit something of zero value?
NO, you would not, you counterfeit something of value.
So why do you believe Satan counterfeits things of God that doesn’t exist today?
Such as the precious Gifts of the Holy Spirit?
Regardless of what you “think” you better start believing in what the Word says… and be very careful of calling something that the LORD does as evil because you do not understand it!
Yup, there are many today that will say if you speak in an unknown tongue, or if you prophesy, or have a Word of knowledge, that is not of God…that God doesn’t do that anymore, what does the Bible say about that?
Acts 2
37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts chapter 2 is about Pentecost and the baptism with the Holy Ghost.
They were already born again before Pentecost of the Spirit which is when we receive the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Just like when Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, “receive ye the Holy Ghost.” After His resurrection. They were not baptized with the Holy Spirit at that time, no one had any of the gifts of the Spirit, but each one had the Spirit.
John 20:22
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
When we are born again, we are born again of the SPIRIT!!!
Adam became a living soul when God breathed into his nostrils. That breath of life was the Holy Spirit of God and at that moment blood also began to flow in Adam’s veins. How do I know that? Because the life is in the BLOOD!
Also that is the perfect picture of our new birth! The Spirit is given to us and the blood of Jesus cleanses us and gives us life at the exact same moment!!
Just as Adam was lifeless, dead, so were we in our sins until Jesus breathes the breath of life the Holy Spirit and His blood into our dead vessels.
But when we are BAPTIZED with the Holy Ghost that is when the Holy Ghost gives us gifts as He wills!
Does all speak in tongues?
Does all prophecy?
Does all have the gifts of healing?
No!
Peter said this promise is given~
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Hmm, does God change? The Word says No He does not.
Is the Holy Spirit God?
Yes He is…yet you want to say He changed His gifts…dangerous very dangerous.
I know of a woman who spoke in two different languages she did not know…Spanish and Russian and each time it was sharing the Gospel…if tongues have already ceased how did this happen?
Also the Holy Spirit is given to us to show us “THINGS TO COME”, yet, again there are people that refuse to believe He does that still today…
Apostle Paul does tell us one day these gifts will cease and that is the TRUTH!
But until that day when there will be zero need for healings, Words of Wisdom, Gift of Knowledge or a Heavenly prayer language they will continue as they started on the day of Pentecost!
Is the Holy Spirit the spirit of prophecy?
Yes!
Yet, you say His character has changed?
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Are there counterfeit gifts?
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Satan has counterfeit for everything God does!
There are probably more counterfeits in the church than authentic gifts truth be told.
One cannot gossip in one breath and cause divisions as well as discord and in the next breath speak in Holy Ghost tongues.
NOPE CANNOT HAPPEN!
Those are counterfeit tongues, sounding brass and tinkling cymbals.
One can not have hatred and jealous towards others and give a Word of Knowledge.
Nope that is called divination!
Holy Spirit tongues will actually have syllables and not sound like gibberish.
Exactly
That is just vain babbling.
Some people refuse to accept the LORD STILL USES THESE GIFTS THROUGH HIS SERVANTS.
Then there are others that will not accept that you DO NOT have to speak in tongues to have the Baptism of the Holy Ghost!
Both sides are wrong and both are are dangerous to the Body of Christ!
The Holy Spirit will use you in any gift that HE DESIRES but they are not YOUR GIFT they are HIS GIFTS and they are being counterfeited today!
You want to know if someone has the Holy Spirit, watch their walk, hear their talk and ask if you want those that live with them.
The genuine fruit of the Holy Spirit cannot be counterfeited for a long period of time. The foul fruit will rear its ugly head after a short time if they are counterfeited.
So I do not hold much credence with those who go around saying, “thus saith the LORD ” or who seem to speak in tongues all the time.
Their heart can be black as night and still do those things. The saddest part most do not even know they have a counterfeit!
So in a nutshell, Satan only counterfeits the things of God that he knows has value for the now, the today.
Be careful not to call the Holy, unholy…be careful not to call the good, evil and the evil, good. When you do not understand something take it to the LORD and keep silent concerning it.
TREAD SOFTLY WHEN IT COMES TO THE WORD OF GOD!
The Book of Psalms tells us that God EXALTS HIS WORD EVEN ABOVE HIS NAME!
Psalm 138:2
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
