This just came to my mind….
When those who hated and were jealous of Daniel, they had the king make a decree that no one could pray to anyone except the king, for an allotted amount of time.
When Daniel heard of the decree he did not obey, the “law of the land” because it went against God. So with zero fear he would still pray with his window open and was arrested and thrown into the lions den.
Daniel 6:6-11
Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. 7All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellers, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. 9Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
Daniel obeys God not man
10Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 11Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
Now in the day we are living in, we are told not to gather together to worship, learn, or preach the Gospel or be arrested.
Where are the Daniels of today?
Where are those who say, “I will not disobey the LORD’S commandment that tells us to “FAIL NOT TO ASSEMBLE OURSELVES TOGETHER AS SOME HAS DONE, AS WE SEE THE DAY APPROACHING?”
Hebrews 10:25
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
I had never even thought about this before, since I do not go to an organizational building called a “Church”, but, what am I doing in order to obey this myself???
Yes, it is true that where two or three are gathered together in the Name of the LORD, He is in our midst, but, you must understand HE is only in our midst when HE IS THE TOPIC OF CONVERSATION! When HE is the center of the meeting!
So…have I or you bent our knee to BAAL in compliance of this direct rebellion against the Word of God?!
God does not put suggestions in the Word to obey, He puts commandments.
I can write whatever I desire, I do not wear a mask in order to show I have zero fear, but, what am I doing when it comes to this commandment?
Daniel is called a Righteous man…will you be called righteous servant or a rebellious servant??
Solomon thought he could do both, worship God and Baal…do you think the same way?
1 Kings 11:4-13
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. 7Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. 8And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
God’s Anger against Solomon
9And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, 10And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded. 11Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
