Beginning with just a little chip. A small seemingly insignificant little imperfection that seems harmless. That’s how it starts.
Not noticing that with every day that passes, this little spot starts to slowly grow. A small little crack to the side, nothing too major. The elements of the weather day by day wearing on the windshield causes this little crack to spread a touch more daily. As long as this spot goes without being given any attention it will continue to grow. Soon a spider crack becomes noticeable.
Still, because of the slow progression, you may have become used to seeing the spot, and no longer does it stick out like a sore thumb. Then before you know it you start having trouble seeing out of your windshield. The spider crack has grown so much that it begins to blur things. Still, without getting any attention you will end up completely not being able to see out the windshield. You have been blinded.
When you take the visual displayed by the chip in the windshield and the arrival of blindness in the end, and compare it to our Spiritual Lives something amazing happens. The in-your-face reality that if we allow a small chip (unrepented sin) to go unattended we can end up completely spiritually blind.
Jesus is the great Physician, Mechanic, our Redeemer. He is the Light, the Truth, the Way. When we take our sins to Him and we repent He will Forgive and Restore us. The four R’s are so important!
- Remember
- Redo
- Repent
- Restore
Don’t let one little chip grow into something that will spiritually blind you.
