The Darker It is The Brighter We Shine

“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can not overcome it.” John 1:5

Sometimes the brilliance and excellence of a jewel can be seen the best against a dark background. Such as was the case in Lamentations. Despite the horror and suffering, the fear and the stench of death, Jeremiah reached out into the darkness and laid hold of the one gem of Truth that he could still see… God does not cast His people off forever. Though it may seem that way at times, He will show compassion again because of the greatness of His unfailing love. (3:31-32)

We are in dark times right now. Fear of this deadly plague, as it’s been called and the death and suffering it could bring, has driven many of us into hiding, hoarding, debating, speculating, judgement and widespread panic. We either sit and search the Bible for why this is happening or we blame it on the devil. Some feel as though God has either brought this upon us or that He doesn’t care or we focus on the suffering, the tears, the potential losses and we can’t understand why He does not act. We sit around and perpetuate fear and lay bitter complaints at His feet.

Saints of God, we are not meant to know or understand why. Why or when or anything of the sort. We are called to LOVE, to SERVE and to GIVE. If anything this is a global call to action to set ourselves apart and BE JESUS in the midst of this storm! We are called to have the faith to step out and not do whatever we can, but to do whatever is needed. To share what we have with our neighbor regardless of the amount we have for ourselves. If I share what I have with you or you share what you have with me, then we both have enough!

“For God did NOT give us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind.”
(2 Timothy 1:7)

I am charging you, Saints of God, this is our call to ACTION. The time to be the Light in the midst of the darkness, the peace in the middle of the storm, to give hope in the midst of despair and mostly to give love to the lost and fearful world.

What better opportunity could we have ever been given, regardless of where it came from, to be a witness… a living, breathing, walking, talking, example of Jesus Christ in this time??? It is our job, our duty as followers of Christ to do as He would do, because HE IS IN US!!! Give Him, show Him, SHARE HIM.

We know how this ends!!!! Be that jewel, that brilliant diamond that blazes against the dark backdrop of our current circumstances. Be the one that reminds this world through our actions, that His great love for us never fails and just like with Jeremiah, will show compassion on us again. So ask yourself, what if now is the time , you know, for such a time as this, for His great power , His great mercies and His unfailing love to be unleashed through YOU? What if the way He is going to show His compassion and heal this land is through us? Stop waiting for Him to act and BE THE ACT!!!!!

Faith not fear to STAND unmovable
Power to give, to serve, to do anything in His name
Love to heal, to give hope, to restore
And
Sound mind to know the very thoughts and purposes of Christ and lead the way

I urge you, please change your perspective on this storm that we are in from one of questioning why or how, to one of thanksgiving and praise that WE ARE THE ANSWER to it.
