I have been very vocal about calling the church to rise up during this time, to shine the light in the midst of this darkness, to show the world we are NOT afraid, that we have complete faith in Jesus Christ and are standing on the Word of God. That includes stepping out to help our neighbors, shoot even strangers, now more than ever before. It really doesn’t matter if you believe this is God’s judgment on an unrepentant people or if you think this is an all out attack of the devil. At the end of the day people, we should have done everything in our power to make sure everyone around us, family or not, has everything they need.
Every day at Grace Klein ends that way, and today was no different. First thing this morning we had food on the way and volunteers lining up to take it and deliver it to families all across Birmingham. Each day we believe God to supply whatever is needed and each day He always provides. But the times we are in right now call for abundant provision. More, way more than usual. Significant amounts of fresh food and vegetables to those quarantined, sick or unable to come get for themselves what they need. I always know God is going to provide, but there are some days that I think He’s either showing off or just loves to blow my mind.
We normally receive a truck, sometimes two on a really good day, of fresh produce and fruit. We believed today to be no different… but it’s was. Not only did we get the two trucks, we got an entire 18 wheeler full of produce, almost 30 PALLETS!!! It took the entire staff, crew on hand, volunteers and even patrons in line to receive food, to help unload this massive blessing. When God sends the harvest, He REALLY sends the harvest!
After over an hour getting everything unloaded, I was walking through the maze of produce and I was just overwhelmed by the goodness of my Father. I sat down for a moment to rest and just surveyed all the fresh food ready to be given out to so very many in need, when I happened to notice the stickers on all the boxes. Every single pallet we received today were labeled with a number, not just any number, but all 30 plus pallets were marked 3-20. If I hadn’t noticed His hand in this blessing already, I clearly saw it now.
“And my God will do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask for or imagine through His mighty power that is working through you.” Ephesians 3:20
Not just enough. Not just more than enough. Way way way more than enough.
He is here people. He is with us. Still providing for us. Still protecting us with that blood He shed on Calvary. Still providing His perfect peace that passes all understanding. And He’s still waiting and watching for His children to be His hands and feet and a light, a ray of hope to a world that needs Him now more than ever. We can do it. We were born for this. He is in us and He’s waiting for us to give Him away in abundance. EXCEEDING ABUNDANCE.
Oh how He loves us. 3:20 kinda love.
