There are times that, while reading the bible, we have a tendency to look for “an answer” while we are reading.
This often happens during our set time of devotions.
Often, while we are in a struggle, the enemy comes quickly with a response that may look and sound like a “good” solution that may, in fact, be a misrepresentation of the scripture we are reading to get us to make hasty decisions.
There are times when I have read for hours (not in one sitting) before something has come specifically from the Lord.
Many times it is long after I have read something, that may have been overfamiliar to me, that God speaks.
Trust Him, continue to pray and read the scriptures and then wait for His directing. It will come.
>>Psalm 27:11-14. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. 12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. 13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Wait patiently upon the Lord.
God is never in a hurry to fulfill His purposes in or with our lives, as we are sometimes prone to think.
Humbly submit all of your own wants, desires and thoughts to the obedience of God’s Word.
Do not give in to “spiritual sounding” advice without confirming the whole truth of it by The Word.
Crucify all the desires of the flesh that might come in and seduce you into thinking that a certain direction is right because it feels good.
Be willing to do, what you least want.
Be sure that by going in one direction you are not running away from something that God is wanting to teach you or use you in by going in the other way.
Trust in the leading of the Spirit of God, who will never lead you contrary to the Word of God.
Be willing to trust His leading no matter what your feelings or anyone else has to say.
While waiting for a clear and defined direction, do all that you continue to do where you are, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength unto the Lord and glorify Him.
>>Psalm 123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
Remember in all things to seek The Lord and not solutions.
