I’m reading and meditating on John 1 this morning…resting the truth in my soul that Jesus was truly fully human and fully God; soaking in the fact that He is also the Word. Think about that…the Word. His dunamis power is in the spoken Word.
When God created, He made something from nothing. He spoke and it was. When we realize that we are all created beings, we should have no basis for pride. We need to remember that we exist only because God made us and any special gifts or talents we have are only because God gave them to us. With God we are something valuable and unique…apart from God, we are nothing. If we try to live without Him, we abandon the purpose for which we were made.
Do you know that we are all called to be John? A witness to that light? A living testimony to the Light that is within us because we believe in Him who created us? We welcome Jesus Christ in our lives, are reborn spiritually, and receive new life from God…new light within us. This new birth changes us from the inside out.
We need to let the Light within us, reflect the Light to those around us. When you let the Light of Jesus shine through you, it brings others to Him just like moths to a flame. My prayer to all this season and every day…let your light shine, shine, shine!
