God’s Timing Is Always Perfect

“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive adoption as sons.”
Galatians 4:4-5

Have you ever had to wait on God? I have. If you have, you know it can be a very trying, testing time. Perhaps the Lord made you some promises or you’re just waiting for an answer in prayer or direction for a decision. Regardless of the reason, you may be waiting, the waiting can be hard…and it’s meant to be.

You see, when we are waiting, our faith is being stretched. We are having to keep believing and hoping for something simply by our faith. It’s during these times of waiting, though, that our character is being refined. We are being made more into His image.

The Word says, “When the fullness of time had come,” God sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins. For centuries the Jews had been wondering when the Messiah would come…. But Gods timing was perfect. We might sometimes wonder if God will ever respond to our prayers. I know after 6 years of waiting and believing for the restoration of my relationship with my children I was beginning to think it was never going to happen because nothing was changing. But we must never doubt God or give up hope.

Hope is the anchor to our soul. I know for me personally, the loss of hope literally meant the loss of my promise. How could that be, because the One who promised always delivers? Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” I had slowly but surely given up hope because it was taking so long and it seemed like it was never going to happen. And as a result, I became bitter, cynical and eventually hopeless. People without hope we can have no faith. And without faith we have no trust. Without trust in God, we have nothing. We doubt. God says in James, if we doubt we will not receive ANYTHING from Him! (Vs. 7) Do you see this? Because I had gotten tired of waiting, lost hope and had eventually started to doubt, I had delayed my own promise from being fulfilled!!

If you are waiting on God today, do not grow weary in your wait. God knows what He is doing and He is always working. I had to learn not to trust what I could or couldn’t see, but trust in what I knew. What I knew was that the One who made the promise is faithful and He is always working on my behalf. Don’t be like me and delay your own promise by doubting…reaffirm your faith and trust in God today and watch Him infuse you with fresh hope that will keep the dream alive until it’s a reality!

If you will call those things that are not, as though they are, you will begin to see things change. Speak words of life into your promise, not words of death by your doubt. If you’re not the one waiting, I challenge you to be a hope reformer. Speak life into someone else’s promise today and give them new hope. Remember, a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. It could be that in speaking life into someone else’s situation that you breathe life into your own!

Remember this, Gods timing is always perfect. And if you can’t see Gods hand working in your life, you can always trust His heart. Restore someone’s hope today and let me restore yours.

I speak life in Jesus name over every unfulfilled promise, over every unanswered prayer, over every forgotten wish and over every seemingly dead situation. Lord flood Your people today with new hope and new life and infuse them with Your peace in the wait. Steady their minds on You and refresh their weary souls with Your presence. Jesus bring life, bring love, bring hope to all. In Jesus Christ’s Holy name I pray. Amen.
