The following is a made up story for the purpose of illustrating the futility of debating the unchanging truth.

Voice 1: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a Collision.

Voice 2: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Voice 1: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Voice 2: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Voice 1: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States’ Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I demand that YOU change your course 15 degrees north, that’s one five degrees north, or countermeasures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.

Voice 2: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

We know what the result would be if the captain would have insisted that his “might was right” and continued to continue his course.
The same will happen to those who continue to ” hold the truth in unrighteousness”. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. Romans 1:18.

However, do we consider that the result would be the same if the light keeper would have been tolerant of the captain’s arrogance and tried to negotiate or debate with him?

It is pointless to debate and negotiate God’s Truth with unbelievers because mockers will “ALWAYS” SUPPRESS/DENY the TRUTH which IS JESUS CHRIST because they love their sins and they will not understand spiritual sayings in the bible because they are naturalist minded! They don’t need evidence anyways because Romans 1 states that “THEY KNOW GOD EXISTS!” Its not a knowledge issue! Its a heart issue! They have hardened their heart to God in their folly.
>>Job 38:2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
>>Job 40:2,7-8. 2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it. 7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

>>Romans 16:17-18. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

>>1 Timothy 6:20-21. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

>>Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

As Believers we are told in
>>>>2 Timothy 2:23-26. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

>> 2 Timothy 4:1-5. 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

>>Ephesians 4:15-27. 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.

GIVE NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL:
The longer we debate and negotiate, the longer the unbeliever can hold on to his false notions and beliefs.
Notions and beliefs of a false hope and salvation.
The longer we debate and negotiate, the longer the devil has to strengthen his hold of deceit and deception on the unbeliever.
The more we debate and negotiate, the more we quench the working of the Holy Spirit.

>>John 16:7-11,13-14. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

>>1 Corinthians 1:17-31. 17 For Christ sent me… to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

WHERE THE SPIRIT OF GOD DOES NOT CONVICT
THE SPEECH OF MAN WILL NOT CONVINCE.
